My Layouts

Basic Trading is a broad-based preset workspace with news, charts, and order management designed to meet the needs of most trades. All of the tools in this layout can be replaced and resized. To navigate to this layout, please take the steps outlined below.

1. From the left-side panel click the My Layouts icon.

2. The Basic Trading layout is the default view and will appear on your screen.

   

3. To add a window, click the tool box icon in the top right corner and select the window you'd like to add.

   

4. To remove a window, click the 3 dots icon in the top right corner of the panel and select Close Window.

   

5. Resize the windows by clicking and dragging from the edges.

6. To Rename or Duplicate a layout, click the 3 dots icon in the top right corner of the IBKR Desktop window.

   

7. Link a window to another window using the link icon in the top right corner of each window.

   

Create your own custom layout in IBKR Desktop by taking the steps outlined below.

1. From the left-side panel click the My Layouts icon.

2. Select the + icon in the top left corner and select Custom Layout.

   

3. A blank screen will populate. Select the windows you'd like to add from the right-hand side.

   

4. As you click the windows to add, they will populate in the layout. Reposition the windows by clicking and dragging from the blade. Resize the windows by clicking and dragging from the edges.

   

5. Add additional windows by clicking the tool box icon in the top right corner and selecting the desired window.

   

6. To remove a window, click the 3 dots icon in the top right corner of the panel and select Close Window.

   

7. To Rename, Duplicate, or Delete a layout, click the 3 dots icon in the top right corner of the IBKR Desktop window.

   

8. Link a window to another window using the link icon in the top right corner of each window.

   

Add a Options Layout taking the steps outlined below.

1. From the left-side panel click the My Layouts icon.

2. Select the + icon in the top left corner and select Options Layout.

   

3. The Options Trading screen will populate.

   

4. Add additional windows by clicking the tool box icon in the top right corner and selecting the desired window.

   

5. To remove a window, click the 3 dots icon in the top right corner of the panel and select Close Window.

   

6. To Rename, Duplicate, or Delete a layout, click the 3 dots icon in the top right corner.

7. Link a window to another window using the link icon in the top right corner of each window.

We support the ability to view multiple IBKR Desktop monitors by detaching layout screens. You may access this in multiple different locations (listed below).

Detach Custom Layout

1. Navigate to Layouts > Right-click on the layout and select Detach Layout.

   

2. You may then click and drag this layout to any additional monitors that you may have.

   

3. To attach the layout back to the original IBKR Desktop screen, click X in the top right corner of the detached screen and select Attach Layout.

Adding a Custom Layout

1. Click the + icon to add a layout.

2. Click the icon to open the layout in a new window.

   

3. You may then click and drag this layout to any additional monitors that you may have.

   

Link to Default Group

Default Window grouping allows you to link all panels across IBKR Desktop screens. When using layout windows, select the Link icon and click Default. Now, you may choose a product on one screen to produce the same product in the other screens.

To link all panels, you may select the three dotted icon in the top right corner and select Link to Default Group.
